My week has been completely consumed by the World Almanac activity books. Just in case I wasn’t clear before there four books of at least 300 pages (ranging from pre-kindergarten to second grade. Each book has a different activity on every page, my main purpose is to create the answer pages but I have to make other corrections and make new art along the way. Here is my perfectly refined very ordered sequence (just in case you were interested!):
1-save new copy
2-make corrections and new art
3-save another new copy
4-draw on answers (this involves drawing lots of circles and lots of hand written letters and numbers, also the occasional line, tick and star. luckily I use a tablet it would be awful using a mouse to do this)
5-Go through every single page, ungroup everything, create text outlines, re-group everything and shrink to 20% of the original size.
6-Copy and paste the 20% pages into the first saved copy.
7-Go through and make sure everything is perfect.
8-Print.
I absolutely love Chronicle, and designing children’s books is my passion but I am starting to lose my mind! i have 2 more books to go wish me luck!
In other news…On Thursday afternoon Todd from HR (boring job, very funny man) organised ‘get to know the new employes’ drinks. Everyone went up to the 4th floor where there was lots of beer and wine and tried to fill out a quiz about us new employees. Todd has previously sent all us newbies questionnaires to fill out about ourselves. The questions on the quiz about me were:
Q: If Izzy were stuck in the Sahara dessert and allowed one drink what would it be
A: Orange Squash (no one knew what this was!)
Q: Who had a pet tortoise named Cordelius?
A: Izzy
It was a really fun afternoon and it was nice to meet loads more people. needless to say we carried on the party in Ironside and Homestead (both fine drinking establishments!!)
