As this week has been so manic for all of us fellows I suggested to Michael Cerabetta that maybe we should take a design lab field trip so we could get out of the office for a bit and get some new inspiration. He loved this idea and we ended up going round San Francisco to a number of different shops that stock Chronicle books to take marketing photos.
The definate favorite shop for all four of us was Dandelion on Potrero Avenue. The shop has been open for 42 years and as cliched as it sounds it actually has something for everyone. The owners are this lovely couple who are completely passionate about all of their products and really welcome you in. Dandelion is packed with so many different things its hard to know where to start; obviously they have lots of beautiful books they also have kitchenware, glassware, toys, soaps, food, antiques, household objects, furniture, fountains, wind chimes, the list goes on and on! The best thing they have managed to avoid any sort of tack, each item has been carefully selected and placed within the shop. This shop is amazing!
